We both wanted to say what a wonderful time we had in
Alonissos. From the moment we caught our first taxi up to the Old Village we
fell in love with it. The island was so peaceful and the people so lovely. Your
cottage itself is beautiful and we felt ourselves very lucky to return there
each evening. We wanted for nothing at all whilst there – it was perfectly
appointed for those on vacation. Your range of maps and guide books deserve
special mention as they helped us get the most from our week there: we hiked
everywhere, took a boat to the marine park (saw Dolphins!), drove to Steni Vala,
visited numerous beaches, ate delicious food daily. I’ve been to some places but
the sunset from Kalovoulos alone at the summit will take some beating. Having
the context provided by your guidebooks made us even more appreciative of what a
special island Alonissos is.
Everyone said we got the timing spot on. All of the seasonal
amenities were available yet barely any tourists had arrived. Most days we’d be
the only people on a given beach. The day before we left the first Old Village
coach tours had started so I don’t think we could’ve been any luckier in that
regard.
All in all it was the holiday we were both desperate for and
exceeded our already high expectations. The whole experience captured our
imaginations and we will definitely return in the future. We can’t thank you
enough for permitting us to stay in your home – it really made our holiday. If
