This is one of the pretty pathways through Chora, the old hill-top, traffic-free, whitewashed village in Alonissos. Petros Cottage is tucked away on the edge of Chora, a few minutes walk from some very good restaurants, a great bakery, an Italian ice cream shop and a bar with free WiFi. On the main street you can find a few restaurants and tiny shops, but at the bar at the end of the road the thing to do is to enjoy a sundowner and watch the sunset.......
Petros Cottage is our home on the small island of Alonissos in Greece and is available to rent during the summer months.

We've Found a New Beach
When we were on holiday in Petros Cottage at the end of September, we found a beach we hadn't been to before. As you can see from these pictures, this part of the island, which is on the west coast, is stunning - unspoilt and stunning. Walking down to the beach through an olive grove, you get tantalising glimpses of sparkling turquoise water through the trees.....

Our Next Door Neighbour's Honey
Dimitri, who owns the tiny shop next door to Petros Cottage, is also the island's beekeeper. He tends about 50 hives and makes the most delicious honey which he sells in his shop. It's perfect for eating with Greek yogurt, on toast, on honey cake, and, well you get the picture yummmm......... You can see his hives all over the island and if you look at http://www.pbase.com/flocolm/alonissos_2011 you can see the wild flowers that make his honey SO good.
